How to use the
carbon calculator

Follow the step-by-step guide to get started with AdGreen's Carbon Calculator.

STEP 1: REGISTER
Sign up to the carbon calculator by creating a new user account, filling in your details and typing in your company name.

Select your company if it appears, and if not you'll be guided through setting up the company once you've verified your email address.

If your company already exists, your request to join will be sent to the admin(s), who will need to approve it.

STEP 1a: SET UP NEW COMPANY
If your company doesn't already exist, once you've verified your email, you'll be guided through the short set up process.

Congrats - you're now the company admin!

STEP 2: LOGIN AND EXPLORE
Once set up, log in, select the company, and you'll land on the project list page.

Admins can also view and edit company settings (including selection of a parent company and viewing child companies) and manage users by clicking on the company name/logo top right.

STEP 3: CREATE A PROJECT
On your project list page, select '+ Add Project'.

Enter information as relevant to your project, and save. You'll be taken to the project overview page.

You can also add other companies to collaborate on your project by clicking 'Manage companies' underneath your project title. Note that only the company who created the project can see the budget, if entered.

STEP 4: INPUT YOUR INFORMATION
Add the activity information as relevant to your project in the pre-production, shoot and post-production segments, using your budget as guide.

You will be able to see any activities input by companies collaborating on the project, but you will not be able to edit them (and vice versa).

The analytics tab displays the co2e for each project stage, and activity area, so you can focus on reducing the biggest bits first.

STEP 5: CLOSE AND ANALYSE
When all activities have been entered by each company involved, mark your project as closed by clicking on the 3 dots top right. You can always reopen it if you need to edit or add an entry.

Projects that are marked as closed will be included in AdGreen’s Annual Review, as part of the anonymous data we share with the industry.

If you want to analyse multiple projects to understand your footprints in more detail, you can export the project data to an excel file by clicking on the three dots top right, on the project list page.
