Want more detailed data about your Final Footprints? You got it!
Improved excel export now gives you information about individual activities you’ve entered
Many of you have been asking for a more detailed excel export, and today it launches. The export, which is delivered to your inbox as an excel file, includes the ‘Basic Export’ sheet, with one Final Footprint per row, plus a further 11 sheets, each representing one of the activity areas you can measure. These activity area sheets feature one activity per row, meaning you can get much more granular with your data analysis.
Want to understand which mode of transport the majority of your People Transport emissions are coming from? Now you can. Want to drill down into your flights to see how many were economy, how many were business and what the CO2e impact of that was? Yep, you can do that too.
By creating pivot tables from the exported data, you can reveal all kinds of insights, just as we do when we analyse the data each year for the annual review.
Additionally, if you’ve filtered your Final Footprint list, you can choose to export just those footprints. You can also export a single Final Footprint to excel, using the burger menu option. New look burger menu!
New look burger menu!
Whilst we’re here, we’ll just give you a tour of the updated ‘burger’ menu, which includes the following actions…
For Final Footprints in progress, and created by your company:
- Edit details
- Edit tags
- Manage access
- Mark as Finished
- Export Final Footprint to Excel
- Duplicate
- Delete
Note that if a project is ‘Finished’, the Manage Access option isn’t shown. Simply ‘revert to In-Progress’ if you need to update this. If your company didn’t create the Final Footprint but has been added as a collaborator, the Edit details and Delete options aren’t shown. If the project belongs to a child company, the burger menu (3 dots) option isn’t shown at all.
Here’s a quick video round up of the above:

More visibility for company admins
Now you can sort users by name, email, date added, last logged in, number of projects and number of activities
To give company admins greater understanding of how their teams are using the tool, the list of users can now be sorted by name, email, and date added - great for companies with lots of staff using the carbon calculator.
In addition, you can now see when they each last logged in, how many projects they have created (Early Insight and Final Footprints combined), and how many Final Footprint activities they have created too - and these columns are all sortable too.
To see these, click on your company logo top right, and 'Manage Users'. Here you can also invite new users and promote them to admins, and delete existing ones if they have moved on or no longer need access. Note that you will not see the 'Manage Users' option if you're not an admin.

Final Footprint duplication now possible...
Whether it's individual activity entries or a whole Final Footprint, it's simple and quick to do!
The long-awaited duplication functionality is now live. To duplicate a whole Final Footprint - i.e. all of its activities, navigate to the existing Final Footprint you’d like to copy, and click the 3 dot menu.
Select duplicate and decide whether you’d like to copy over just your own company’s activities, or those PLUS any which have been created by other companies on the Final Footprint. Note if you choose the latter option, any text in the ‘additional information’ section of each activity will be removed, for data protection.
Use this option when you have a project that’s similar to something you’ve measured previously. Or you could create a new Final Footprint for a production style you do regularly, and then duplicate it each time you do a job in this style - effectively creating a template. Either way, be sure to check on the activities which have been copied over, in case any of the details need to be changed to reflect the production you’re measuring.
Note that any time you duplicate a Final Footprint the calculations will be re-run and the latest carbon factors will be used. This may mean the new Final Footprint’s total CO2e may be different from the original project you chose to duplicate.
Duplicating single entries
To help you save time, you can also duplicate single activity entries. To do this, find the activity you want to copy, and click on its 3 dot menu. Select duplicate and the new activity will be pre-populated with the same information. Adjust as necessary and save - done!
Note that this way, you can only duplicate activities your company has created (those belonging to other companies on the Final Footprint do not have a 3 dot menu).

Filters are here!
Want to just see all of your open projects you’re working on with a particular company so you can focus on getting them finished up? Look no further…
This week we release the new filters feature. Combined with tags and sorting, this is a powerful way for users to see only the projects they want to see. Here’s a little demo - see below for the full run down!
For Final Footprints, you can filter by…
Project owners:
- Just Final Footprints your company has created and/or been added to
- Final Footprints your child companies are part of - these are non editable and therefore do not have the 3 dot (burger) menu
- Everything together (‘All projects’)
Date created:
- Add a date range
Status:
- Finished
- In progress
- All projects
Companies involved:
- Select the company or companies you’d like filter by - great for seeing every project you might be working on with a particular company
Tags:
- Select the tags you’d like to be visible
Shoot:
- Shoot
- No shoot
- All projects
Incorporated existing material:
- Existing material
- No existing material
- All projects
Budget currency:
- Working on lots of projects with different currencies? Filter by any currency your project budgets are in
And for Early Insights, you can filter projects with a shoot / no shoot and those which will incorporate existing material and those which won’t.

Group Final Footprints with tags!
Want to tag all of your Halloween footprints? Christmas? Superbowl? Now you can...
Many of you wanted a way to replicate the idea of 'campaigns', which the previous carbon calculator had - now you can by creating tags. Any tags will only be visible to your company - so your collaborators can create and use tags which mean something to them.
Tune in next week to how the filters feature compliments this too.

Lighten the load by collaborating more easily - and with more companies!
Now you can add collaborators when you set up a Final Footprint
If you're working on a production with other companies, why not share the load and add them to your Final Footprint? Now, when you create a new one, you’ll be given the chance to add your collaborators, whether that's the brand, agency, production company, production consultancy, post house or supplier. Simply search for them, and add them.
Note that you can remove companies, change restrictions and add more collaborators after creating your project simply by going to the Details button when looking at your Final Footprint, and clicking Manage in the Companies Involved section. Clicking the 3 dots for the Final Footprint when in the project list view and selecting 'Manage Access' will also show the same pop up.
Company not there? Invite them to register and add them to your Final Footprint in the process
If the company you’re searching for doesn’t come up, it means they’re not yet using the carbon calculator. Good news - just select ‘+ Add new’, fill out a couple of details, and they’ll receive an email with sign up instructions.
The company will show up in your list of companies with access, but with ‘Pending set up’, until they complete the quick registration process.
Once registered and logged in, they’ll see your Final Footprint on their dashboard and be able to add their activities to it straightaway!
Got an NDA project? Restrict access to your Final Footprint with the new invite only feature
You’ll notice as you add each new company, you have the option to specify only certain people who can view the project. If you’re working on a highly sensitive project and need to restrict access at your own company, and/or that of any collaborators, you can! Projects with restrictions on visibility (whether at your company or a collaborators), are shown with a lock symbol in the project list.
FYI Parent companies cannot see Final Footprints of their child company if any restrictions are in place for their child company’s users.

Post house or supplier? Now you can sign up for the tool too!
Previously, we’ve focussed on encouraging production teams to use the carbon calculator, but many of you wanted to collaborate with your post-production houses and other suppliers too - such as camera rental houses, and caterers. Good news - now when they sign up, they can indicate they’re a post house or supplier, and you can add them to any Final Footprints you choose!
w/c 8th September
Easier input for generators!
Benchmark now available in Final Footprints as well as Early Insights
Lots of you found the generator benchmarks in Early Insights so helpful that you requested they were added to Final Footprints too. Good news, they're now available! So if you’re not sure how much fuel you used in your generator, just select the benchmark option on your shooting spaces form.
Edit a Final Footprint's details even if it's finished...
Want to tidy up your project names without reopening all of your Final Footprints? Now you can - click on the burger menu (the 3 dots) and click 'Edit Details' to change the name, additional info, budget info, key dates, and shoot days for any Final Footprints your company has created.
Fun fact: more burger menu updates coming soon and then we'll record video to show you the new menu options.
Why did we add this option? Reopening your footprint and then finishing it again updates the ‘date closed’ - which may change the dataset year it falls into. This change gives users the option to amend details without amending the project’s metadata which we use to track project completion, and build our annual datasets.
