How does AdGreen calculate co2e and shoot day averages?

Average benchmarks, calculated from the AdGreen dataset (which is made up of users’ Final Footprints), are used both on a single Final Footprint analytics page, and on the overall analytics page which can cover all of your Final Footprints, or a filtered list.

First, the following Final Footprints are excluded from the full dataset:

  • Any with status ‘In progress’ (leaving only those which are finished)
  • Any not finished in the previous 365 days, so it is always using the most recently finished Final Footprints
  • Any with “test” or “dummy” in the title
  • Any created by the AdGreen or developer team

This gives us a dataset of finished Final Footprints to work with, which updates daily. Then the various co2e averages are calculated as follows, and reported on the analytics pages as required:

Overall co2e average:
Final Footprints included: All those remaining after those meeting above conditions have been excluded.

Average: Total co2e divided by total number of projects

Overall without shoots co2e average:
Final Footprints included: All those remaining after those meeting above conditions have been excluded, which also meet the following additional conditions:

  • Shoot = No

Average: Total co2e divided by total number of projects

Overall with shoots co2e average:
Final Footprints included: All those remaining after those meeting above conditions have been excluded, which also meet the following additional conditions:

  • Shoot = Yes

Average: Total co2e divided by total number of projects

Overall without flights co2e average:
Final Footprints included: All those remaining after those meeting above conditions have been excluded, which also meet the following additional conditions:

  • Final Footprint has no flight entries in either People Transport or Equipment Transport (irrespective of which production stage they are in)

Average: Total co2e divided by total number of projects

Overall with flights co2e average:
Final Footprints included: All those remaining after those meeting above conditions have been excluded, which also meet the following additional conditions:

  • Final Footprint has one or more flight entries in either People Transport or Equipment Transport (irrespective of which production stage they are in)

Average: Total co2e divided by total number of projects

Without shoots, with flights co2e average:

Other averages used on the analytics pages are calculated as follows:

Overall shoot day average:
Final Footprints included: All those remaining after those meeting above conditions have been excluded, which also meet the following additional conditions:

  • Shoot = Yes

Average: Total shoot days divided by total number of projects
